Massachusetts Divorce Lawyer Discusses Mediation without an Attorney Present

I was recently asked as a Massachusetts Divorce Lawyer if you can have your attorney present during the mediation process.  In Massachusetts, generally lawyers are not present during a mediation. On very rare occasion someone feels like they need a lawyer present and they can attend, but it sometimes can be harmful to the mediation process because the other participate feels as though they’re outweighed by their spouse. I do strongly encourage everyone as a Massachusetts Divorce Lawyer to get the documents that are prepared as a result of the mediation reviewed by lawyers before they’re actually filed with the court and approved by the court.
